i know! it's was the first and only time i have ever seen them! I was so happy that I managed to get a rather decent photo of such specimen, it's too impressive

I think they have "full" wings but that transparent region has thinner layers or something which allows them to camouflage better

yeah it's very complicated xD but i red somewhere that it helps them to "hide" from predators
they're called Glasswing butterflies (greta oto) if you want to know more about them
